Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

• If your therapy is being covered by Worker’s Compensation, all you will need is your driver’s license or a photo ID.

• If you have private insurance, you will need your driver’s license or a photo ID as well as your insurance cards.

• Upon arrival, you will complete new patient paperwork unless you choose to complete it beforehand. Paperwork can be found in our “Patient Forms” section.

Do you treat more than just hands?

Yes! Southern Hand Centers treats a wide variety of upper extremity conditions from shoulder to hand.

How are my therapy appointments scheduled?

We will call you before your first appointment (initial evaluation). While at that appointment, we will work with you to schedule the remainder of your visits and print it out for your convenience.

Do you take credit cards?

Yes, however, there is a small transaction fee. Please see our “Pay Your Bill” section to make payments online.

Do you require a doctor's referral for treatment?

We are able to administer a one time evaluation without a doctor’s referral; however, a referral is required for continues treatment.

Will my private insurance cover your services?

If you’ve been scheduled for an appointment, then you are in network. We will review your benefits with you over the phone prior to your first appointment. As a courtesy on the day of your first appointment, we will issue a benefit review sheet for you to sign.

Do you see patients without insurance?

Yes, we have a Payment Agreement that can be negotiated and agreed upon prior to or at your first appointment.

Are you opened on weekends?

No, we are only open Monday – Friday.

What is the earliest and latest appointment available?

Our business hours are from 8:00am – 5:00pm at the majority of our clinics. We start treating patients at 8:00am and our last appointment time is 4:00pm.
