About

Southern Hand Centers (SHC) is celebrating 20 years of serving West Tennessee and Northwest Mississippi this year! We are so proud to have touched so many lives and look forward to many more.

At SHC, our therapists specialize in the care and treatment of the upper extremity, from shoulder to fingertip. Each of our clinicians come with experience treating various diagnoses, including surgical cases and conservative cases.

Our clinics are independent entities owned by certified hand therapists. We offer care at each location under the direction of a certified hand therapist.

We also provide on-site hand therapy for physicians’ offices or employers, as well as industrial consulting.

What is a Certified Hand Therapist or CHT?

• An Occupational Therapist (OT) or a Physical Therapist (PT) with a minimum of 3 years clinical experience, including 4,000 hours or more in direct practice in hand therapy.

• Has passed a comprehensive test of advanced clinical skills and theory in upper quarter rehabilitation.

Benefits of a CHT

• Professionals that have dedicated their careers to upper extremity specialization.

• The CHT credential insures that the therapist has achieved the highest level of competency in the profession.

• Ensures up-to-date knowledge and expertise in current upper extremity surgical techniques.
