Parker Gregory received his Master of Occupational Therapy degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2014. Before deciding to pursue a career as an occupational therapist, his major was pre-dentistry. Unfortunately (or fortunately) during that time, he suffered a fracture to his hand that required surgery as well as occupational therapy services. This minor setback fueled Parker’s interest in occupational therapy. Parker applied to occupational therapy school two years later with the intention to specialize in hand therapy upon graduating.
During the last year of his Masters Program, Parker completed a three month internship with Southern Hand Centers in their Memphis and Southaven locations. As Parker’s internship was reaching its end and with graduation quickly approaching, Parker’s passion for hand therapy was evident; therefore, he was asked to officially join the Southern Hand team. Currently, Parker is employed as a full-time therapist in Southern Hand’s Memphis and DeSoto locations as well as covering the contract locations. 2017 was a key year in Parker’s professional career as he attained the prestigious credential as a Certified Hand Therapist.
