Heather received her Master’s in Occupational Therapy from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2006. Her career started at The Regional One Medical Center in Memphis, TN in the fast-paced environment of the burn center. It is there that she developed her love and passionate pursuit in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation. She wanted to further pursue her career in outpatient orthopedics and in 2009 she began working at Baptist DeSoto in outpatient therapy. She excelled in this environment and was approached two years later to initiate outpatient hand therapy services at Cross Creek Physical Therapy in Olive Branch, MS. There, she was able to further develop her skill set and expertise with emphasis on the shoulder complex.
In 2014, Heather obtained her highly sought after career goal and attained her certification in hand therapy. This highly specialized certification provided her with yet another career opportunity and she joined the highly prestigious staff of Southern Hand Centers. It is here that she has continued to develop her skills under the mentorship of Julie Dixon, CHT. Heather brings a very well-rounded skill set to Southern Hand Centers with her vast knowledge in burns, neuro rehabilitation, and manual therapy of the shoulder.
